What to Expect for Vket Summer 2025

Well, here it is! By the time you’re reading this, Virtual Market (Vket) 2025 Summer will be getting underway or already open through July 27th. As a reminder, Vket is a social VR marketplace and convention, held multiple times a year in VRChat by HIKKY Co. Ltd.. A range of avatars, world assets, and much more are made available to try and/or purchase from creators at each Vket.
I have multiple years of memories of Vket conventions and there’s plenty more to say about the impression each one left in my mind and heart. For now, I can just say that you won’t regret your first time visiting Vket (or second, third and so on…). Beyond the shopping, with each Vket there is an active exchange of culture and the opportunity to build camaraderie among friends through various activities.
And not just any activities! Fun stuff like dancing, playing mini-games, solving puzzles, or…saving the world in a massive food fight against a giant…crab? Doing that with okonomiyaki still sticks in my mind as one of the most fun (and funny) things I’ve done in not only Vket, but in all of social VR!
That said, I definitely have some light and general advice for any Vket you go to, including this one. Not in any particular order:
Have a budget in mind before you go shopping (stick to it if you need to).
Don’t just explore alone, or go with friends…do both!
Take plenty of photos!
Don’t miss exploring any worlds (catalog here).
Most importantly, pace yourself by taking breaks—even if that’s taking the headset off each hour for 5 minutes to focus your eyes on something across the room/outside—and drink water (here’s one of many water-focused groups in VRChat).
Each year’s Vket Summer has a different theme and this year’s theme is “Key of Discovery”. To learn more about why this is the theme, you’ll have to explore all of the worlds for yourself! I invite you to do that in the next two weeks and use the official hashtags above when you do. :-)
